About Us

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our core beliefs are centered in Jesus Christ and His message found and supported in Scripture. Our theology is Biblical, not rooted in denominations or religious traditions. We focus on the major tenants of orthodox Christianity. The secondary issues that separate and divide believers are left to each person’s understanding of Scripture.

THE BIBLE

The basis of our belief is the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. We believe that all of Scripture originated from God. Scripture speaks with the authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds, styles and vocabularies of the human authors. We hold that Scripture is the unique, full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

GOD

God exists in three persons- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each possesses all the attributes and personality of God. In the beginning, by His power, wisdom and goodness, God created the world and everything in it. He continues to sustain His creation and is active to fulfil His redemptive purposes.

Salvation

God’s desire is to call all people into fellowship with Him. By going our own way, we have become alienated from God. This happened at the beginning of human history and continues today. All people have suffered the consequences of this alienation from God and need God’s saving Grace. Salvation is the work of God’s free Grace. Every person can receive salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. God assures us that He will continue this Grace work in our lives forever.

JESUS CHRIST

The second person of the Trinity is Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all humans by dying on the cross as our substitute. After His death, He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God. Jesus is the only Mediator between God and humans. He promised to come again to earth and complete God’s eternal plan.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The third person of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit. Believers are called to a life of obedience and submission to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit applies the Grace work of God by taking up residence in every believer at the point of salvation. He gives gifts to each believer to build up the Body of Christ. He guides us in our understanding and application of Scripture. His power is appropriated by faith and transforms us into Jesus character and causes us to bear fruit for the glory of God.

Human Destiny

We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

THE CHURCH

Through union with Jesus Christ, all believers become members of His body, the Church. The Scripture directs believers to gather for worship, prayer, fellowship and the teaching of the Word; to observe Baptism and Communion; to offer service to the body by development and use of talents and gifts, and to engage in outreach to our world. Love for and faith in God is expressed when people meet regularly as instructed in Scripture. The church, led by the Holy Spirit, continues to work out Jesus’ plan for the Glory of God.

FAITH & PRACTICE

In matters of faith and practice, Scripture is our authority. In matters where Scripture is silent, each believer is led by the Holy Spirit, to whom they are ultimately responsible.
